West York teacher promotes reading skills, friendship-building

For several years, Ms. Michelle Balanda in the West York Area School District has arranged for her students to pair up with and read to, residents of Country Meadows Retirement Home a few times a year. To keep the tradition going amid the pandemic, Balanda incorporated creativity and technology by creating a video of the students reading a selection of wonderful books. Even though the students can’t be there in person, the residents at Country Meadows will still have the opportunity to enjoy hearing the students read and create new friendships!
