Students ‘Walk this Way’ for health and safety tips

“We want students to learn healthy habits early, so that they can build a strong foundation for lifelong wellness and academic success,” said Principal Steve Glaize.
Held outside, the stations were spread across the school’s campus. Students completed activities and interacted with community groups, rotating through six different stations.
• The Horsham Township Fire Department showed students their fire trucks and talked to students about fire prevention.
• Scott Hreso, a retired U.S. Air National Guard Lieutenant Colonel, and Kristin Moffa, a Pilates and barre instructor at RISE Barre and Fitness, coached students through fitness exercises and drills.
• Montgomery County Health Department officials taught students best practices for pedestrian and bike safety.
• The Horsham Township Highway Department and the Horsham Township Sewer Authority brought their municipal trucks and informed students about their work to keep the community safe.
• The Horsham Township Police Department brought a squad car, motorcycle, and K-9 to show students and taught them about their work.
• At the hydration and nutrition station, students took a break to enjoy water and apple slices.
