Students volunteer at annual Turkey Trot

This year, students from the Palmerton Area Senior High School’s National Honor Society (NHS)volunteered at the 2022 Bo Tkach Foundation Turkey Trot. Twenty-four current and potential NHS members volunteered to assist at this event, which raised money for the Bo Tkach Foundation, which fosters mental health awareness. Students started their day by meeting at the local park where they were paired up and assigned to an intersection in the community. Throughout the Turkey Trot, each pair of students ensured that their intersection was properly barricaded to allow participants to have a safe route.

Mrs. Jeana Baumgardt, high school teacher and NHS advisor, said, “This was a great opportunity for our students to serve the community. The weather was beautiful, and the event helped to raise money for a very worthwhile organization.”
