Student explores Little Connoquenessing Creek

Students from Ryan Gloyer Middle School explored the Little Connoquenessing Creek with their parents on Sunday, August 30, as part of a new outdoor initiative at Seneca Valley designed to reconnect students and families with the benefits of spending time in nature.

The program began with a brief overview of the Little Connoquenessing Creek. Students learned about organisms found in the stream and reviewed snorkeling procedures and safety tips before heading into the water. Equipped with snorkels and water snooper buckets, students explored the creek and observed a variety of aquatic organisms in their natural habitat.

Led by teachers Mr. KC Cahall and Mr. Zeke Stroupe, one of the primary goals of the new outdoor initiative is to engage families in outdoor experiences so they can continue exploring together beyond the program.
