Moniteau boosts opportunities for postsecondary success

The Moniteau School District is working to provide more learning opportunities for students and encourage postsecondary success. For example, the district has developed partnerships with various postsecondary schools. Students can now enroll in courses taught by the faculty of the PennWest University system and earn college credit transferable upon graduation. Courses include calculus, history, foreign language and more.

In addition, Moniteau has also partnered with Butler County Community College in the field of nursing, to help meet a workforce need in this area. The program allows high school students to complete many of their requirements toward certification as a registered nurse prior to high school graduation. This certification can be a steppingstone to other advanced degrees.

Both of these programs are offered to the students at a greatly reduced price, creating significant cost-savings for students and families.

Moniteau School Board Vice President Mike Panza said Superintendent Dr. Aubrie Schnelle has been instrumental in bringing these opportunities to the district: “Dr. Schnelle has instituted numerous programs and procedures to enhance the education of our students and for the benefit of our district in general. She is focused on serving the needs of all students and the community at-large.”
