Seylar Elementary students are leading the way

Seylar Elementary students showing one of the many leadership projects they created.

Seylar Student Leadership is run by Mrs. Benstead and Mrs. Myers. The group is made up of 28 students in grades 4 and 5 (6-8 students from each of our four Thunderpacks) and we meet once a month before school.

The group is in charge of planning spirit days and service projects for the school. So far the group has sold ribbons for breast cancer, created a wall of honor for Veteran’s Day, collected toys for Toys for Tots, and our most recent project of the candy cane grams for Fostering Hope.

The students create posters to promote school events as well as create their own scripts that are read on the daily morning announcements. Students often give up their recess time to plan events as well as count the schools’ behavior incentive Thunder Pack tickets.

School leaders are #PennridgeProud of this group at M.M. Seylar Elementary in Pennridge!
