All eyes on Chef!

Second-grade students at Pleasant Valley Elementary School are getting a hands-on taste of healthy living this week. As part of an ongoing initiative to connect nutrition education with interactive learning, students have traded in their pencils for chef hats during their health classes to create fresh fruit parfaits alongside Whitson’s Culinary Group’s very own Chef Paul.

The interactive workshop brings the culinary arts directly into the classroom at the District’s elementary school, transforming standard health lessons into a vibrant, sensory experience. Under the guidance of Chef Paul, students are learning about the importance of balanced eating, the benefits of incorporating fresh fruit into their daily routines, and how to build nutritious snacks on their own.

This sweet collaboration is part of Pleasant Valley Elementary’s commitment to fostering lifelong wellness habits. By making healthy food choices interactive and approachable, the school and Whitson’s aim to empower the district’s youngest learners to make vibrant, health-conscious decisions.
