Generations connect: Tinicum second graders share joy with Phoebe seniors

Students and seniors come together for a day of learning, friendship and fun!
Transportation, which can often be a barrier to coordinating events like this, was provided by the senior center. Several activity directors from the facility came along and, in addition to assisting the residents with filling out their Act 24 clearance waivers, helped make it a convenient opportunity for everyone to spend quality time together.
Gathering in the all-purpose room made it accessible for those in wheelchairs. Students and residents spent time chatting, crafting, playing sight-word bingo and reading books to one another, side by side. The room was filled with smiles, laughter and meaningful conversation as friendships formed across generations.
This memorable visit offered students a beautiful opportunity to practice kindness, empathy and respect, while reminding everyone involved of the joy that comes from simply spending time together as a community.
Smiles, stories and simple moments brought generations together, offering proof that connection has no age limit.
