Elementary students and their families were treated to the Ninth Annual CCES Family Literacy Night on March 14, 2024. This year’s theme was “Leap Into Literacy Night,” centered around St. Patrick’s Day. The celebrity guest reader was Ms. Nikki Krize from WNEP Channel 16. She was a big hit with the crowd, and we certainly appreciate her taking the time to come to our event.

This event brought together over 400 students, parents and educators for a fun-filled evening. There were 15 Literacy Stations to participate in, such as Bingo for Books, Leprechaun Scavenger Hunt, and Slime ‘n Letter Spelling. Students also received literacy take-homes and parents were offered resources as well.

Students and families were also provided the opportunity to attend the Scholastic Book Fair, organized by elementary school librarian Courtney Jarinko.

“I appreciate all the volunteers who donated their time to help make this annual event a huge success,” said Mrs. Paula Faus, coordinator/reading interventionist.
