BEEZ Buddies help new students feel at home

It’s hard to be the new kid. But Whitehall-Copley School District has found a way to make the transition a little easier — Zephyr BEEZ Buddies! In this program, fifth-graders introduce new students to Zephyr Elementary School. They teach the new BEEZ about school expectations, answer their questions and give them a tour of the building. These students also assist with annual tours for rising third-graders. The Buddiez are nominated for the job by their fourth-grade teachers and start training for the job at the start of fifth-grade.
