Junior High PMEA String Fest

On November 2, students in the Seneca Valley Orchestra Program participated in the second annual Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 5 Junior High String Fest. PMEA District 5 encompasses schools from Beaver, Butler, Lawrence and Mercer counties and the fest is open to students in grades 7-9.

Held at Mars Area High School, 15 Seneca Valley Orchestra students were selected for the Junior High String Fest. Students rehearsed and performed four pieces under the direction of esteemed retired educator Donna Fox.

“This is a great opportunity for our younger musicians to perform with students from other schools and get a feel for the PMEA experience,” said Orchestra Director Sarah Miller. “I am so happy that this new fest has been such a positive experience for orchestra students in our area.”
