Smethport Area collects 10,000 items for donation
The Smethport Area Student Council delivered donations to the food bank
Smethport Area School District came together to help neighbors in need by collecting donations for the local food pantry, Christian Community Food Bank. The Student Council at Smethport Area Junior-Senior High and advisor Kim Cavallaro organize an annual districtwide donation drive to help fill the pantry’s shelves and provide financial assistance. This year the group gathered more than 10,000 items, including $3,000 in financial donations! The students collected the items from the schools and transported them to the food bank for distribution to the community.
