Seneca Valley Mock Trial Team Makes History

Seneca Valley’s High School Mock Trial team made school history with their advancement to the State Championship, which took place March 24-25, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, at the Dauphin County Court House. There were only 14 teams out of 312 from across the state who qualified, including Seneca Valley, ultimately earning them an eighth-place finish in the championship.

This extraordinary accomplishment marked the first time in which the SV Mock Trial team advanced from regionals to district finals then to the State Championship.

“I am immensely proud of my mock trial students for their outstanding teamwork and dedication, which has led them to the state championship in Harrisburg, marking a historic first for our school,” said Seneca Valley Senior High School gifted support teacher Ms. Brieana Nassan. “Their tireless efforts and commitment to perfecting their case have been truly remarkable, and I am thrilled to see their hard work pay off in such a significant way. These students are a true testament to the power of teamwork and the rewards that come with unwavering perseverance.”

The SV Mock Trial team comprises of students in grades 9-12 in the gifted program and is advised by Ms. Brieana Nassan, senior high school gifted support teacher.

Members of the SV Mock Trial team include Leo Slacker, Calleigh Foulkrod, Jacob Hensley, Julia Acker, Sydney Kratsas, Kacy Christensen, Grant Hoover, Nick Porter, Sonya Dietz, Benjamin Carnino, Friyana Sepai, Lilly Hudac, Julia Gibilisco, Katie Mack and Morgan Dunn.
