myFace assembly promotes kindness
Students in fifth grade had the opportunity to participate in a virtual assembly with staff from the myFace Center. This organization provides supports for children and adults with craniofacial conditions.
The connection with the myFace Center came from the fifth grade students reading the book Wonder. The assembly was part of The myFace Wonder Project, where students have the opportunity to “choose kindness” and make a big difference in the lives of others. The goal of the myFace Wonder Project and Assembly is to provide students with the tools they need to be an “upstander” and unite against bullying, while also being empowered to identify and implement acts of kindness throughout the school and community.
The assembly was a great learning experience for the fifth grade class and provided real-world applications to the learning they experienced in the classroom.
