Vocalists shine at PMEA District Chorus

PMEA District Chorus 2024

Recently, 21 SV Chorus students in grades 10-12 traveled to Mercer High School to participate in the PMEA District Chorus. The choir included students from Beaver, Butler, Lawrence and Mercer counties. Music pieces were selected by Dr. Andrew Withington of New Zealand, and included selections written in Latin, Samoan, Te Reo Maori, as well as English. The guest director for the festival was Dr. Bryan Helsel of Youngstown State University.

Based on audition results, the following students advanced to the region level: Ayla Alexander, Annika Batavia, Connor Benson, Josh Cantella, Nathan Capizzi, Ella Gemperlein, Issaac Hixon, Jackson Hugus, Graham Logue, Jacob Maietta, Katie McAdoo, Natalie Palmer, John Rieger, Giulia Siegfried, Madeleine Tomo, Madelyn Tresky and Emma Zelesnak.

Students are led by Bobi-Jean Alexander and Claire Barker, secondary choral instructors.
