Upper Dublin celebrates World Read Aloud Day
Upper Dublin School District | Posted on
We all remember hearing our teachers read books aloud to us in school, right? Students love to hear books read aloud by their teachers! Hearing teachers read aloud texts is a great way for students to hear fluent reading in action.
The Upper Dublin School District has a strategic goal for ALL students to read on or above grade level by the end of third grade AND to remain on or above grade level every year thereafter. To help achieve that goal, the district has committed to a strong comprehensive literacy model, which includes daily read alouds as part of instruction.
On World Read Aloud Day (February 4) teachers highlighted their favorite authors as they read books aloud to students. Teachers shared their favorite books not only with their classes, but with students all across the district. Teachers and students from various buildings connected in person and via technology to hear quality books read aloud!
