Upcycling changes trash to art
West Jefferson Hills School District | Posted on
Students in Mrs. Cook’s Environmental Science class created works of art from recycled materials as part of their Waste Management unit at Thomas Jefferson High School. Students’ innovative creations included materials from a range of items such as pop cans, water bottles, plastic bags, baskets, cat scratchers made from woven plastic bags, and even a working clock made from a hub cap! This unique project is a wonderful way for students to learn that the trash they create can be upcycled into functional products and actual works of art to improve the environment.
