In August, Elizabeth Gregory, a Spanish teacher at Truman High School, traveled to Chiayi County, Taiwan, with 20 other teachers from the United States. This was a grant funded opportunity with Global Classroom Connect based in Humboldt County, CA.

She gave a presentation to educators from Taiwan about global education and was matched with a partner school that Truman’s National Honor Society (NHS) chapter will have cultural exchanges with. When asked to comment, Gregory said, “Every aspect of this experience was amazing. I was thrilled to meet our partner teacher who works at an all-girls high school that is similar in size to Truman. I look forward to planning our culture exchange with our NHS students. Sharing best practices with colleagues from other parts of the U.S. was also inspiring.”

This is the second year that NHS will be partnering with a school from another country. Last year, they were matched with a school in Pakistan.
