Thomas Jefferson High School celebrates first group of AP Scholars
Thomas Jefferson High School (TJHS) administrators held their first Advanced Preparatory (AP) Scholar Night on Wednesday, April 14, to celebrate TJ’s first group of AP Scholars! Twenty students were recognized at this special ceremony for achieving this new award. To qualify as an AP Scholar, students must take at least five AP courses and score at least a 3 or greater on three or more of the AP examinations.
The ceremony was hosted by Mr. Adam Knaresborough and included remarks from Mr. Pete Murphy and Mrs. Lauren Kaszonyi with entertainment provided by the TJHS A Capella Choir and TJHS Orchestra Ensemble. At the conclusion of the program, guests had the opportunity to see the new TJ Scholar Wall of Distinction that showcases the names of all students achieving this honor, browse artwork created by the AP Art students, and enjoy special desserts created by our family consumer science students. AP Scholars will be recognized in the graduation program and receive a medal or cord to wear at graduation. Congratulations to our TJ AP Scholars, and a huge thank-you to everyone who helped to make this evening possible!
