The Mobile Ag Lab comes to Rockwood

Nathan Miller shows off the insect he made after learning how to identify insects on the Mobile Ag Lab.
The Mobile Agriculture Education Science Lab is a 40-foot mobile classroom that travels across Pennsylvania, providing an interactive field trip experience directly to schools and students in grades K-8. The Mobile Ag Lab is equipped with over 30 STEM-based science experiments and lessons, a certified teacher and all necessary supplies for a hands-on learning experience. Rockwood has incorporated this program into the student curriculum for years, recognizing the importance of experiential learning in a well-rounded education.
It is widely acknowledged that students greatly enjoy learning with the Mobile Ag Lab. Each lesson is tailored to the students, encompassing activities such as starting seeds, understanding food origins, making butter and identifying insects. Our FFA students volunteer to assist in teaching elementary and jr. high students valuable lessons about agriculture’s significance in our world.
We look forward to the lessons that will be brought to our students next year. We extend our gratitude to the Ag Lab for delivering invaluable educational experiences to our students.
