“Taste of Home” Heritage Potluck at PVMS
¡Buen Provecho! The Pleasant Valley Middle School cafeteria buzzed with excitement on the evening of March 20, 2025. The 8th-grade Spanish classes of MP 3 & Sra Santiago hosted their “Taste of Home” Heritage Potluck, and the air was thick with the aroma of spices and home cooking. Thirty families gathered, each bringing a dish that told a story of their heritage. Students stood proudly beside their displays, which included posters, family trees and even artifacts brought from their homes.
Families mingled, chatted and exchanged recipes. The room was filled with laughter, the clinking of plates, and the animated discussions about food and culture. Each dish was a window into a different world, and every story shared brought the community closer together. As the evening drew to a close, the students and Sra Santiago expressed their gratitude for the wonderful turnout. The “Taste of Home” Heritage Potluck was a resounding success, a celebration of diversity and a testament to the power of food to bring people together.
