SV Voices shine at chorus festival
Each year, all choral students in grades 9-12 from Beaver, Butler, Lawrence and Mercer Counties are invited to audition to be a part of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 5 Honor Choir. This year, 22 of the 96 chosen for the choir were Seneca Valley (SV) students! The three-day festival was held at Westminster College and concluded with a public concert on Saturday, October 28. The students are scored on pitch, intonation, rhythm, interpretation, technique and tone.
“We are very proud of the individual effort that goes into these auditions,” said choir directors Ms. Bobi-Jean Alexander and Ms. Clair Barker. “We are so happy for the personal growth that takes place. Our students won four of the eight first-place chairs and represented themselves and SV very well!”
