Carson Scholars

Three Seneca Valley students are among the 579 students nationwide to be named a 2025 Carson Scholar. Haine Middle School sixth graders Yasmeen Fahs and Ashlynn Kazmarek along with Ryan Gloyer Middle School (RGMS) seventh grader Cameron Swope have earned this prestigious distinction, which is a recognition of their outstanding academic excellence and commitment to service.

With this honor, these students will receive a $1,000 scholarship award that will be invested for their college education, along with a medal and certificate. They will be formally recognized at the Carson Scholars Fund’s Annual Pittsburgh Awards Banquet on Sunday, April 6, 2025.

“We are incredibly proud of Yasmeen and Ashlynn for being named Carson Scholars,” said Haine Middle School Assistant Principal Mr. Jeremy Womer. “This honor recognizes their exceptional academic achievement and dedication to serving their community. Their hard work and success are truly inspiring!”

According to the Carson Scholars Fund, Miss Fahs, Miss Kazmarek and Mr. Swope were selected because they demonstrate the highest standards of academic achievement, integrity, and civic and social responsibility.

“We are incredibly proud of Cameron for being named a Carson Scholar,” said Dr. Tony Babusci, RGMS principal. “This impressive recognition highlights not only academic excellence but also civic and social responsibility, which are core values of Ryan Gloyer Middle School.”
