Students speak with House Education chairman
On Thursday, April 22, local State Representative Curt Sonney (4th Legislative District and chairman of House Education Committee) invited students from the Corry Area School District (CASD) and Union City Area School District (UCASD) to participate in a Town Hall virtual meeting with him. This virtual opportunity was sponsored by the PA School Boards Association and took the place of their ongoing Show Them What It Takes program, where PA Legislators visit schools across the state and interact with students regarding all the great things going on in their school buildings. On this day, fifth grader Weston Atha and junior Rosemary Molthan, in addition to two UCASD students, posed questions to Rep. Sonney for over an hour. Interestingly, as documented by Heather Scott, PSBA Advocacy Ambassador, Weston is the first elementary school student, across the region, to participate in this event. Both CASD students represented our district extremely well.
