Student’s photograph chosen for Bucks IU Art Gallery

The photograph, “Looking In,” by Teri-Rose Browne is on display at the Bucks IU Student Art Gallery
Teri-Rose Browne is the student artist representing Bristol Township School District (BTSD) in the Bucks IU Student Art Gallery. Each year, the art gallery showcases one piece of art from 13 school districts, the IU and several nonpublic schools.
Browne, an eleventh-grade student at Harry S Truman High School, has her photograph, “Looking In,” on display. The photo was taken during her photography class and Browne tried to be as creative as possible. “I was trying to capture a moment in time and take a photo that included one of my friends,” said Browne. The photo is open to interpretation, but Browne says she had a vision of what she wanted it to look like. “I made sure my model was positioned correctly and looking directly into the camera. I also adjusted the lighting so there would be a shadow on her face and had one of her eyes in focus,” said Browne.
She attended the reception on March 27, which included a dinner buffet, a program and the awarding of student certificates. “I was excited, but also nervous to find out that I was representing BTSD at the Bucks IU Student Art Gallery,” said Browne. “I didn’t think that my photo would be chosen, but I’m glad that I got this opportunity.”
“Teri-Rose is a very gifted artist and was an outstanding ambassador of the Bristol Township School District’s art program,” said Superintendent Michael Nitti. “We thank all of our art teachers and the IU for organizing a great event.”
