Students engage in Holocaust Education experience
About 120 students at the Seneca Valley Intermediate High School recently attended engaging presentations by the Generations Speakers from the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh.
Generations Speakers are the children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors who develop presentations about their survivor relative’s story.
Organized by Ms. Michele Russo, English teacher at Seneca Valley Intermediate High School, students listened intently to the stories about the Holocaust, fostering a deeper understanding of history and its lasting impact on humanity.
One example included Ms. Alison Karabin who spoke about her grandmother’s (Elizabeth Brown) experience of growing up in Hungary before the war, her life in captivity in the camps, surviving a death march and her life after the war in America.
