Seneca Valley teacher earns Excellence in Science Middle School Teaching Award

Seneca Valley Haine Middle School teacher KC Cahall has been selected as a 2026 Pennsylvania Science Teachers Association (PSTA) Award Winner, receiving the Donald Keys Excellence in Science Middle School Teaching Award.

The award recognizes Cahall’s outstanding contributions to science education and his dedication to students, colleagues and the broader science education community.

“KC brings a tremendous amount of passion and enthusiasm to science education, particularly through his commitment to outdoor learning,” said Dr. Marie Palano. “He consistently goes above and beyond to create meaningful, hands-on experiences that encourage students to explore, ask questions and connect what they are learning to nature. His dedication to helping students explore the world around them brings learning to life.”

PSTA honors educators who demonstrate a commitment to strengthening science education across Pennsylvania and inspiring the next generation of scientists, innovators and critical thinkers.

Cahall will receive the award during the PSTA Awards Luncheon at the organization’s 75th Anniversary Conference in October.
