SV PMEA District 5 Band Festival

This month, 17 Seneca Valley Band students were selected to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 5 Band Festival held at Hopewell High School. District Band is a representative festival of all the schools in PMEA District 5. It is the first step in the state-level music festival system, where students have the opportunity to advance to the regional level. The guest conductor of the festival was Dr. Travis J. Weller, associate professor of music and director of music education at Messiah University. Based on audition results, nine SV students (Paityn Armstrong, Noah Bracht, Isaac Hixon, Kaite Mack, Camyn Meanor, Bridget Scott, Kami Topf, Mackenzie Tunstall and Adrian Wrubel) were selected to move on to the PMEA Region 1 Band Festival to be held in February at Deer Lakes High School.

Additionally, SV senior clarinetist Paityn Armstrong was awarded a PMEA District 5 Music Education scholarship at the event.
