Students attend Robert Morris DMAC festival

SVTV crew members and SV Video Production students swept awards at the Robert Morris University Digital Media Arts Consortium (DMAC) video festival on Wednesday, April 15, winning in several categories. The SVTV volunteer crew won Best in Category in the “Live Event” contest for their broadcast of the girls basketball senior night. Junior Layla Lynch picked up Best in Category in the “Special Effects” genre for her multimedia animation project. Junior Austin Ocrah won in the “Digital Cinema” category for his short film about managing trauma, senior Kian Watt won an Award of Excellence for his documentary about the SV Jazz program, and senior Austin Barclay won in the “Black and White Photography” category for his photo titled “Faith.”

SVTV president London Meyer was also recognized on stage with a Founders Award for her incredible contributions to the club over her four-year career. London has also excelled as a student in several different video production classes and submitted work in the “Photo Illustration” category of the festival. The DMAC student video contest has been in existence for over three decades and celebrates student talent in dozens of Western Pennsylvania school districts. Students can submit their work in the media arts to more than twenty different categories and see the great work of neighboring schools as well. We are so proud of our amazing students!
