Seneca Valley Graduation Project

On Friday, May 15, Seneca Valley seniors concluded one of their final milestones before graduation as they presented their Graduation Projects to panels of judges made up of teachers, administrators and staff members.

Inside classrooms across the school, students rotated through a series of stations, where they delivered presentations highlighting their projects, research and learning experiences.

“I continue to be impressed by the creativity, professionalism and dedication demonstrated by our seniors through their Graduation Projects,” said Seneca Valley Superintendent Dr. Tracy Vitale. “These presentations showcase not only the knowledge and skills our students have developed throughout their time at Seneca Valley, but also their passion, confidence and readiness for the future.”

The Seneca Valley Graduation Project is a required educational experience completed during a student’s senior year and consists of three major components in a student-chosen area of study: a project, a portfolio and an oral presentation.

Student ingenuity was on full display with project examples such as artwork, a completely built go-kart, digital architecture models and more.

Throughout the year, students develop projects that may be community, career or enrichment oriented while documenting their progress and experiences within an individual portfolio reviewed by judges during the presentation process.

For students, the presentation portion of the project serves as an opportunity to explain their project process, demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for their learning, and expand upon elements not fully represented within their portfolio materials. For over 25 years, the Graduation Project has been impacting the lives of thousands and even paving the way for future careers and commitments to community service.
