Seneca Valley leaders awarded at state conference

Ryan Gloyer Middle School teachers awarded
Among the distinctions, RGMS celebrated its fifth redesignation as a PA Don Eichhorn Schools: “Schools to Watch,” a program highlighting middle schools that exemplify academic excellence, developmental responsiveness, social equity, and strong organizational structures and processes.
In addition, several members of the RGMS community were individually honored. Eighth grader Rex Woodard received the Joan Jarrett Student Award. Health teacher, Ms. Ashlyn Pry was recognized for the Learning to Teach & Teaching to Learn: Student Teacher Recognition Award. Learning Support teacher, Ms. Katie Wisniewski earned the PAMLE Promising Practitioners Award: New Teacher Award.
“This recognition is especially meaningful, as it reflects our deep commitment to middle-level education, continuous growth, and the pursuit of excellence,” said Ms. Trisha Butschle, Ryan Gloyer Middle School principal. “These prestigious honors serve as a testament to the dedication of the entire Ryan Gloyer Middle School team, whose strong collaboration and unwavering focus on students help inspire a lifelong love of learning.”
The Joan Jarrett Student Award honors outstanding young adolescents who demonstrate leadership abilities, good citizenship, and have made positive contributions to their school and community. The Learning to Teach & Teaching to Learn: Student Teacher Recognition Award honors outstanding student teachers or interns who have completed their middle school student teaching experience during the 2025 calendar year. The PAMLE Promising Practitioners Award: New Teacher Award is presented to teachers who are just beginning their middle school careers and have made a positive impact on both their school and community.
