Seneca Valley launches new program in partnership with The Andrew Effect
The Seneca Valley School District, in partnership with The Andrew Effect, recently launched a new program for extended-day kindergarten students called Dramatic Play Centers. These centers were unveiled at Haine Middle School on January 17, with a special celebration: Full Steam Ahead. Each center is equipped with supplies that foster imaginative play and incorporate situations that develop cognitive and social skills such as dental offices, diners, creator spaces, banks and more.
“Structured play offers our youngest learners a valuable opportunity to develop creativity, interpersonal skills, communication and real-world connections,” said Haine Elementary Principal Dr. Kristen White. “While teachers support these experiences, the development of play is encouraged to be organic. We are incredibly fortunate to have the support of the Andrew Effect and our community partners as we strive to provide our learners with opportunities that benefit them both inside and outside the classroom.”
The Andrew Effect creates meaningful opportunities for children to learn through play using engaging activities and quality educational toys.
“Every child deserves to dream, and have high quality, interactive learning experiences,” said Ms. Candace Kantz, president of The Andrew Effect. “We could not be more excited to unveil the Play Centers, and soon to see them in action in the school.”
