SADD chapters honored at Red Ribbon Rally
The combined SADD chapters of Meyersdale Area High (MAHS) and Middle Schools were among those honored at the 39th Annual Somerset County Red Ribbon Rally and Awards Ceremony held October 18 at the Somerset Church of the Brethren.
Becca Mull, community program supervisor – prevention, UPMC WBH at Twin Lakes, presented awards in several categories, including: posters, essays, videos and public service announcements (PSA). This year’s theme was, “Life is a Movie. Film Drug-Free.”
The MAHS and Middle School SADD created a video featuring the many positive activities and events enjoyed by Red Raiders. Each video PSA was required to be 30-60 seconds in length, be created by students and feature this year’s theme.
MAHS SADD advisor Elizabeth McClintock said she was proud of how hard the students have worked to help promote this year’s theme and the meaning and message of Red Ribbon week.
“I am lucky to have a wonderful group of students who are willing to go above and beyond to spread the message of living a drug free life.”
Congratulations to these talented students!
