Leanna Weimer, Rockwood Area School District FFA advisor and science teacher, is being awarded the Outstanding Agriculture Promotion and Education Award, from the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau. “This award shines a spotlight our program and showcases the incredible talent and dedication of our students at Rockwood,” states Mrs. Weimer. Rockwood is truly fortunate to have a strong group of highly involved students to represent the school, led by Mrs. Weimer and her combination of knowledge, experience and dedication has carried the program to win this success.

For the past 12 years, Mrs. Weimer has dedicated herself to teaching and advising the FFA program. Because her class is an intracurricular program, all agriculture students participate in FFA activities. According to Mrs. Demchak, principal of Rockwood High School, “Rockwood is so lucky to have Mrs. Weimer! She brings energy, excitement and innovation to everything she does! Her creativity and innovative teaching style keep students engaged and wanting to learn. She brings agriculture to life through her passion, knowledge, and genuine love for what she does. Her enthusiasm inspires not only her students but also her colleagues to learn and grow”.

Mrs. Weimer has said she is truly honored to have been nominated, and to have received the award from the PA Farm Bureau. She believes farming is a profession that is built on dedication and perseverance, which she was lucky enough to observe growing up and watching her parents who both built their careers on the farm. “Rockwood is an incredible place to work, and I feel so blessed to be part of such a supportive and hardworking community,” stated Mrs. Weimer.

We extend our sincere congratulations to Mrs. Weimer and express our appreciation to the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau for acknowledging her outstanding commitment and diligent efforts with our Future Farmers of America chapter.
