PMEA Orchestra 2024

Exceptional talent and hard work set seven Seneca Valley Orchestra students apart as they participated in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Western Region Orchestra Festival that was held March 21-23 at Butler Intermediate High School.

Western Region Orchestra is a select group of students who have advanced through audition to the regional level of the state festival process and is comprised of students from PMEA regions one and three.

Based on auditions results at the festival, junior Isabella Muthler will be advancing to the All-State Orchestra in April.

The guest conductor for the festival was Dr. Christopher M. Cicconi, professor of Music Education, Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra at Towson University. Students performed a beautiful concert of musical works from “Appalachian Spring,” “Pines of Rome,” “American Salute” and “Summon the Heroes.”

All participating musicians included Elizabeth Browne – violin, Tristan Conrad – cello, Issac Hixon – French horn, Isabella Muthler – viola, Jake Pieszak – violin, Ava Platt – viola and Morgan Roithner – viola.

Students are led by Ms. Sarah Miller, secondary orchestra instructor.
