Principal slimed after students collect 1,000 cans of food for local pantry

Dr. Elisha Gee, Principal, was slimed after students successfully collected 1,000 cans of food for “Tackling Hunger for Soup for the Super Bowl.”
Blair Mill Elementary celebrated the success of its schoolwide community service project, Tackling Hunger for Soup for the Super Bowl, with an exciting and messy reward! On February 7, Principal Dr. Elisha Gee was slimed in front of the entire school after students successfully collected 1,000 cans of food to benefit a local food pantry.
The Tackling Hunger for Soup for the Super Bowl initiative encouraged students, families and staff to donate canned goods in the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl. The school’s goal was to gather 1,000 items, and Blair Mill Elementary exceeded that goal, reaching its target just in time for the big event.
“As a school, we are incredibly proud of our students’ generosity and commitment to helping others,” said Dr. Gee. “This project not only supports our local community, but it also teaches our students the importance of giving back. We’re excited to celebrate their hard work in a fun and memorable way!”
The slime event took place during the school’s assembly and students had the opportunity to witness the principal’s slimy moment as a “thank you” for their efforts in supporting the local food pantry. The canned goods were delivered to the pantry after the event, ensuring that the donations help families in need this winter season.
Blair Mill Elementary’s Tackling Hunger for Soup for the Super Bowl campaign was an incredible success, demonstrating the power of community and the impact that even the youngest students can make when they work together to make a difference.
