Pre-K staff heroically save student during emergency
Two staff members from Belle Valley Elementary Pre-K demonstrated remarkable bravery during an emergency situation when a student began choking at lunch.
Ms. Jaraczewski and Mrs. Place collaborated effectively; one administered the Heimlich maneuver while the other sought additional assistance when some of the student’s lunch obstructed her airway. Thanks to the staff’s preparedness and prompt actions, the student received necessary care and is now doing well.
A few days later, the student and her parents surprised Ms. Jaraczewski and Mrs. Place with flowers and tokens of appreciation to express their gratitude. This alarming incident had a positive outcome, serving as a reminder of the various challenges and situations our educators must be equipped to handle on a daily basis.
