Personal Finance Festival

Central High School holds Personal Finance Festival for seniors.

At the end of April, the annual Personal Finance Festival, sponsored by The Dragon Pride Foundation, was held for the seniors at Central High School in the Spring Cove School District. Students identified a potential future career and entry-level salary. They then made “life choices” in categories such as finance, housing/utilities, food, transportation, miscellaneous everyday expenses, health and entertainment. Expenses were calculated and compared to net pay in order for each student to determine if their desired standard of living is within reach, given their proposed career. Many thanks are extended to the area community and business leaders who operated the stations.
