Students have fun at one of this year’s Kids Heart Challenge stations.

Kindergarten and first grade students at Parkside Education Center in the Palmerton Area School District participated in this year’s Kids Heart Challenge, which is coordinated annually with the American Heart Association.

Students rotated through a variety of fun stations designed to actively engage students and get them moving. For example, one station was called “The Floor is Lava.” At this station, students had to balance themselves as they walked across fallen “logs” and jumped across “stones.” At the end of the path, students had to throw a beanbag into the middle of the “volcano.” Other stations included jumping jacks, hula hoops and bouncy balls.

It was a fun day for a great cause.
