Palmerton students meet Broadway performer

Palmerton students interact with Broadway performer Kris Richmond.

At Palmerton Area Senior High School, this year’s spring musical is Chicago. The school’s drama club students recently had the opportunity to meet virtually with Ms. Krissy Richmond, who previously performed in Chicago on Broadway. Ms. Richmond is professionally trained as a ballet dancer and spent several years performing on Broadway in various shows and roles. She spent over an hour discussing the show with Palmerton’s drama club students. She spoke about character, working in the arts and shares her overall Broadway experiences. The students also had the chance to ask questions and learn more about the origins of the story that inspired Chicago.

“This was a very rewarding experience for our drama club and stage crew students. This was the first time that they had the opportunity to interact directly with someone who had first-hand experience on Broadway,” said Mr. Brandyn Miller, Palmerton Area Senior High School’s stage crew advisor.
