OCmsn wins 1st place in State Digital Media Competition with Suicide Prevention Video
A group of students from Oil City Middle School joined the effort in bringing greater awareness and prevention to teen suicide in PA. The OCmsn team created, produced and starred in their video for the PA Digital Media Competition, which highlighted the staggering statistic that 5 teens commit suicide each day in Pennsylvania alone.
In their production, a message of hope and encouragement is displayed for those feeling despair or loneliness to combat the statistics. At the state competition held on May 23 at Dickinson College, OCmsn took 1st place in the Middle School division for digital movie submissions.
OCmsn advisor, Mr. Brian Rondinelli, was thrilled to share his student’s accomplishment and applaud their success. At a recent Board meeting, the students were invited to share their 5-minute movie. Those in attendance voiced their support and congratulated the students for tackling such a sensitive topic and creating a high quality product. The Oil City Area School District is undoubtedly proud of the OCmsn team!
