Oakview Elementary named a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School
Pennsylvania State Representative Timothy R. Bonner attended the Lakeview School Board meeting on September 26, 2024, where he presented Dr. Keith Wolfe, superintendent of the Lakeview School District, with a special citation. This recognition was given in honor of Oakview Elementary School’s designation as a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private schools for their academic excellence or significant progress in closing achievement gaps. Oakview Elementary’s recognition as a 2024 Blue Ribbon School reflects the dedication of its teachers, staff, students and families in fostering an outstanding learning environment.
In his remarks, Representative Bonner highlighted the significance of this honor, not only for the school but for the broader community. “Oakview Elementary’s Blue Ribbon designation is a remarkable achievement that reflects the hard work and commitment of the entire Lakeview School District,” Bonner stated. “This recognition underscores the high standards of education and the exceptional learning environment here.”
Adding to the prestige of this award, Mercer County is one of just three counties in Pennsylvania to have two schools receive this distinguished honor in 2024. Oakview Elementary’s achievement is shared with Mercer High School, marking an exceptional year for education in the region.
Dr. Wolfe expressed his gratitude for the recognition, saying, “This designation is a true reflection of the dedication of our teachers, the perseverance of our students and the support of our community. We are proud to represent not only our school but the entire Mercer County educational community with this national recognition.”
The Lakeview School District celebrates Oakview Elementary’s remarkable achievement, which continues the district’s tradition of educational excellence.
