Coaches who care: Students matter on and off the field

As New Castle Senior High School gears up for its annual Homecoming festivities, Athletic Director and Football Coach Fred Mozzocio found a unique way to make sure his players looked and felt their best.

Coach Mo organized for Cut Creations Barber Lounge to bring its trailer directly to the football field earlier this week. After practice, players who wanted a fresh haircut could head under the bleachers, where barbers were ready to give them a clean look for the big dance.

The effort, while simple, carried a powerful message. Parents and staff noted that the gesture showed just how much the school community cares for its students, not just on the field, but in every part of their lives. These are the moments that build pride, trust, and lasting memories for our students. As the Hurricanes head into Homecoming weekend, students not only have fresh haircuts but also a clear reminder of how much their coaches and staff care about them on and off the field.
