An impressive 57 auditioned singers were recently selected from Haine Middle School and Ehrman Crest Middle School to attend the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Elementary Chorus Fest held at Grove City Area High School. Students prepared concert repertoire in the months leading up the April 12 event and then rehearsed with singers from 32 schools across District 5. Fifth graders worked with Mr. Shawn Funk, award-winning conductor of the Pittsburgh Youth Chorus. Sixth graders rehearsed with Mr. Victor C. Johnson, award-winning composer, arranger and conductor, of Texas. The day culminated with a dinner banquet honoring the musicians as well as an incredible concert performance showcasing the prepared pieces.

Students were led by Mrs. Ellie Lahm Schroder, Haine Middle School Music Teacher, and Mr. Kyle Masson, Ehrman Crest Middle School Music Teacher.
