Middle school students attend career seminars

Ms. Brittney Noble speaks about her career as a respiratory therapist and her transition to safety and quality specialist.
Students in 7th and 8th grade at Ben Franklin Middle School are hearing firsthand about a variety of different career paths. Mrs. Kasey Kenworthy, school counselor, has been planning and organizing various career seminars for students.
Franklin parents and guardians received an email to see if they were interested in speaking to students about their careers and how they got to where they are today. Mrs. Kenworthy organizes the dates and students sign up for the career seminars by registering through a Google Form.
Three seminars have been held so far. The students have been very engaged and ask insightful and thoughtful questions. A huge thanks goes out to Mr. Brian Gilbert, Mr. Kevin Dippolito and Ms. Brittney Noble for volunteering to speak with our students.
Mr. Gilbert spoke about his career as a NJ Department of Child Protection and Permanency and how he is using his degrees in the field of psychology. Mr. Dippolito spoke about his career as a fire chief, fire marshal and the director of emergency management for Bristol Township. Ms. Noble spoke about her career as a respiratory therapist and how she has recently transitioned to the role of safety and quality specialist at Abington Hospital.
More career seminars are coming soon, including graphic/digital design, police officer, carpenter/home construction, medical assistant, human resources, and learning and development coordinator.
