Meal kits brighten holidays for students
The distribution was part of a larger effort by United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania to distribute 57,000 Thanksgiving meals and food bundles across Allegheny County. The meals were delivered to communities in every corner of Allegheny County: Natrona Heights, Tarentum, Penn Hills, Clairton, Duquesne, McKeesport, South Allegheny, McKees Rocks, Coraopolis, Braddock, Rankin, East Pittsburgh, West Mifflin, Homestead, Carnegie, Turtle Creek, East Allegheny, Wilkinsburg and various City of Pittsburgh neighborhoods including Homewood, East Liberty, the Northside, Troy Hill, the Hill District, Lawrenceville and the Hilltop neighborhoods.
Current plans are in place to provide holidays meals for the Winter Break to continue these efforts to feed families during the pandemic.
