McDowell senior Kendra Ramey and junior Will Bundy, with their teammate Aveta Puschak from Seneca, took home third place in the National SkillsUSA Competition in June. The team, formed through the Early Childhood Education Program at the Erie County Technical School, earned a bronze medal in the Career Pathways Showcase for Human Services. Their winning project was “Little Learning Adventures,” which is a student-owned company they founded to create engaging educational workbooks that help prepare preschoolers for success in kindergarten.

SkillsUSA is a national student organization that partners with students, teachers, and industry to strengthen the nation’s skilled workforce. Serving more than 380,000 students and educators annually, SkillsUSA provides training, leadership development, and hands-on competition opportunities in career and technical education fields.
