McClellan Elementary School Kindergartners Write the Room

McClellan Elementary kindergarten teacher Mrs. LLoyd created an exciting day of learning for her students as they participated in their first “Write the Room” lesson! Write the Room is a movement-based activity where students move around the classroom and find specific cards similar to a scavenger hunt. These cards can have letters, sight words, numbers, etc., and the students are tasked with locating the cards and writing down what they find. The kindergartners are able to practice several key skills such as handwriting, letters/sight words/numbers, identifying/reading, building vocabulary, order and organization by matching the number of the card to where it goes on the response sheet. According to Mrs. Lloyd, “The students are super focused and learning in a fun and engaging way. They LOVE these activities!”
