MASD Food Drive

MASD has launched a food drive to help stock our local pantry.
Through November 19, students are invited to bring nonperishable items that will be donated directly to our local food pantry, the Casselman Valley Helpers.
During the November food drive at MASD, each building has a focused group of items identified as a need by the food pantry. The homerooms bringing the most items in each building will be awarded a fun prize!
Elementary students, staff and faculty are asked to bring canned goods, such as vegetables, cans of fruit, canned meat or soup. Those associated with the middle school are asked to donate pasta items, such as spaghetti noodles, spaghetti sauce, macaroni and cheese, cereal, oatmeal and Pop-Tarts. High School students, staff and faculty are asked to donate hygiene items such as toilet paper, soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes.
In addition, a drive-through food drive event will be held from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15 in the high school parking lot to allow members of the community to join and support this important effort.
“With the government not passing a budget, there are many families who have unmet needs. We are striving to provide as much support as possible for our community to help meet needs and ease a small part of the burden families are facing. These students recognized the needs of their community and took the lead to ensure they could help out during difficult times,” explained Bree Yoder, MASD social worker and NHS advisor.
