MAHS senior signs with professional women’s football team

Since she was a little girl, Trinity Hoover dreamed of playing professional football. That dream has come true and in just a few days, she will take the field, for the first time, as a member of the Pittsburgh Passion, a professional women’s football team!

Trinity, a senior, is the youngest player on the roster of 75 women. The team is coached by Teressa Conn and Lisa Horton. Trinity will be wearing number 95 and will be joining the team as a defensive end. The team began practicing in preparation for the 2026 season in January and will open their season against the Tampa Bay Inferno on May 2nd. What makes this team truly unique is the fact that these women play for the Passion in addition to their full-time jobs, demonstrating just how “passionately” they love the game of football. The world-renowned Pittsburgh Passion has captured three national titles and eight divisional championships.

“This opportunity means the world to me because I’ve been playing for so long and I want to be able to be a role model for other little girls who would like to play. I’ve been in contact with the passion since eighth grade and now that the time is here I’m so excited,” Trinity explained.

Trinity said her experiences as a youth and high school football player fueled her desire to continue playing beyond graduation. Throughout her career thus far, she has earned the following awards and recognition: Silver Football Team, 2024 All-Academic Gold Football Team, 2025 All-Academic Gold Football Team and 2026 all-academic gold football team.

In addition to playing professional football, Trinity will be attending college full-time this fall at Frostburg State University where she plans to obtain her masters in Athletic Training. Trinity is the daughter of Audrey and Eric Hoover of Meyersdale.
